Pappy fishing Pappy, caught in the act of fishing. (His real name was Fred, in case you didn't see his name written across the picture. My grandmother often wrote on the pictures themselves.) Pappy proudly displaying fish Pappy, as we called him, standing with his catch of fish.
Pappy, standing by his car with the largest catch he ever had. (This was according to the caption my grandmother put in her photo album.) It was 1951, acccording to the license plate. Pappy at Porgies, Ocean City I don't know why he hunched up his shoulders like this, but then, I have never held so many fish in front of me, so maybe they were really heavy. Heavy load of fish
Pappy with another huge catch I guess Pappy had two greatest catch days, because that is how my grandmother also captioned this picture. Maybe she meant the size of the fish. Pappy sitting in front of a mountain Just a picture of him sitting and relaxing. I'm not even sure it was from a fishing trip.

A few other interesting pictures.

Here he took my mother and her siblings fishing. My mom is 10 or 11 year old, holding the fishing pole. Notice her rolled up socks. Her sister, besides wearing a dress, is wearing nice shoes. This is captioned "fishing in the cypress swamp in Arkansas." Swamp fishing with his children
Pappy at his desk, long ago Pappy worked for oil companies most of his life. Here is his office with all the "latest" equipment. This is a good picture to choose to click on for the larger view. You can see the strange things much clearer.
